Zoe
Markos-Thresher
She grew up immersed in sports, starting swimming at the age of four, first in the pool and later in open water. Triathlon entered her life almost spontaneously through people in her community who encouraged her to try her first race, and from that moment on, she fell in love with it.
Through running, cycling, and swimming, she discovered a way to explore not only her limits but also new places, routes, and experiences.
Her collaboration with sports brands brought her closer to the running community and sports culture. For her, running is the most honest sport, as it always gives back the effort you put into it. It teaches patience, persistence, and respect for both the finish line and the journey leading up to it.
What she loves most is the feeling of freedom and connection created through shared effort. Running is not just a movement, but a form of expression and a different way of seeing the city, the people around her, and herself. For her, every run is a small exploration, and she believes every runner is, in their own way, a small artist.
Growing up as a track athlete, for many years movement to Zoë had only ever existed in the context of sport and competition. Having unexpectedly stumbled across yoga whilst living and working abroad in Cape Town; and what once seemed like a fun, challenging class to go to once in a while, gradually became a consistent and non-negotiable practice.
What brings Zoë back to yoga every time is the subtle yet profound power that this practice has to peel away unwanted layers of beliefs that we've gathered over time about ourselves. To be able to turn up as you are, with no pressure to look and move in a certain way - this was the magic that kept bringing Zoë back to the mat and the reason she loves to share this expressive & connected movement practice with her community.
Zoë has gained over 500+ hours in several yoga disciplines, and has since worked alongside brands such as Lulu Lemon, Adanola, Nike & Asics in their sport campaigns and runs yoga retreats globally.
Zoë enjoys teaching anything from a fluid mandala vinyasa to a slow restorative flow or yin practice to help people drop into deep rest. Whatever the class, you will find the focus is moving deeper into the breath rather than deeper into the pose. Weaved into Zoë’s flows you will find elements of strength, mobility, playfulness, stillness and movement combined.
This practice is yours and this space is your playground to explore, and to breathe.
